Grand et puissant buste (37cm) en terre cuite modelée d’homme coiffé d’un bonnet, aux traits stylisés et énergiques, typiques de l’esthétique Art déco des années 1930, signée Bazon.

Le traitement synthétique des volumes et l’expression tendue rappellent les créations spéctaculaires de cette époque, on pense notamment aux sculpture de Louis Sosson (sa tête d’Indien notamment) ou encore au buste dit ‘la colère d’Achile’ de Constant Roux.  

L’artiste a ici modelé l’argile crue puis l’a cuite. Il a conféré une vraie force à cette sculpture : sourcil tendus, lèvres serrées, jugulaire gonflée, une considérable énergie se dégage de ce sujet. 

Pièce unique. Repose sur un socle en chêne. 

C’est un objet rare, d’une grande beauté, en excellent état.
