Antico rosario in filigrana  con crocefisso . Italia fine ‘Ottocento. tutto in filigrana e sfere in cristallo sfaccettato di colore viola di una tonalità molto elegante.
Rosario, un oggetto di preghiera nome "rosario" deriva dal latino rosarium, che significa "corona di rose", e fa riferimento a un'antica usanza medievale di onorare la Vergine Maria con ghirlande di rose, simbolo delle preghiere rivolte a lei. 
La preghiera del rosario consiste nella meditazione sui "misteri", ovvero episodi significativi della vita di Gesù e Maria. 
La tradizione attribuisce l'origine del rosario a un'apparizione della Vergine Maria a San Domenico nel 1221, che lo ricevette in dono per combattere le eresie dell'epoca. era devozionale e contemplativa tipico della Chiesa cattolica.
