Full tan leather; plain borders blocked in gilt (quite bright) to front/rear boards; 'Schola S. Salvatoris Cond.', etc./illus. (building) blocked in gilt to front board; spine had brown leather title label (faded/chipped), with titling/decorative borders and motifs blocked in gilt. All edges marbled; marbled endpapers. Spine slightly worn at top, but robust; joints rubbed; moderately scored/slightly soiled boards slightly worn at corners, but robust/quite bright; moderate foxing to verso free-endpapers, but text fresh, pages very clean/crisp/bright. Binding firm, all complete/intact. Contemporary ink inscription to front pastedown endpaper; owner's modern bookplate (illus. bright cols.) affixed to front free-endpaper. xvi+419pp. (Vol. I) + x+438pp. (Vol. II); illus. bw. drawings (including fold-out frontispiece to Vol. II)/engravings.
