Termometro per ambiente in avorio della fine del XIX secolo.
Il termometro in oggetto, realizzato in avorio tornito, sulla sua superficie, reca iscrizioni tecniche relative al
suo uso, alcune delle quali in caratteri tipografici ripresi dallo stile gotico. Tale stile, detto “neogotico”, è in uso
a partire dal secondo quarto del XIX secolo fino alla fine dello stesso secolo, prima dell'avvento dello stile
Liberty. I caratteri tipografici in esame sono riconoscibili per le forme angolose e allungate che imitano le
forme delle lettere eseguite con la penna d’oca e l’inchiostro nella scrittura antica. Nel termometro in oggetto questi caratteri sono evidenti nella parola GLACE. E' mancante il recipiente in vetro riempito di mercurio.
