Antico velo da calice del 800 incorniciato  ( visionato da antiquario ) realizzato con la tecnica del broccato, una stoffa pregiata e ornamentale.
Il broccato è un tessuto operato con disegni complessi e in rilievo, ottenuti grazie a trame discontinue che non attraversano l'intera larghezza del tessuto. 
Tradizionalmente, veniva realizzato in seta, spesso con l'aggiunta di fili metallici in oro o argento. 
I motivi decorativi sono tessuti direttamente nel tessuto, a differenza del ricamo, e possono variare in complessità, dai disegni monocromatici a quelli multicolori. 
Il tessuto broccato è stato storicamente utilizzato per abiti di lusso, costumi, e per l'arredamento, come tende, cuscini e rivestimenti per mobili. 
Le misure totali con cornice sono : larghezza 71.5 cm e altezza 74 cm.
