Exceptional Set of 2 Vintage Swedish Nysilver Drinking Horns – Marked "Extra Prima Nysilver" & "JCA" with Cows on Lids

A rare and beautifully preserved set of two Swedish drinking horns crafted in nysilver (nickel silver), both stamped “Extra Prima Nysilver” and “JCA”, indicating authentic Swedish workmanship from the late 19th to early 20th century.
These impressive pieces combine elegant form, detailed ornamentation, and historic charm, reflecting the fine craftsmanship for which Swedish silver- and nysilverware became known during this period. Each horn is topped with a decorative lid featuring a finely modelled cow, a delightful and symbolic detail that evokes Sweden’s pastoral heritage and love for nature.

The graceful curvature of the horns and the bright, silvery sheen of the nysilver give them a stately yet playful character — ideal for collectors of Nordic antiques, traditional barware, or anyone who appreciates unique decorative objects with a story.

The “Extra Prima Nysilver” mark was used in Sweden to denote a superior grade of nickel silver, often found on high-quality tableware and presentation pieces. The “JCA” maker’s mark adds authenticity, likely referencing a skilled workshop active during the early 1900s.

Despite their age, both horns remain in excellent vintage condition, showing only light signs of wear consistent with age, adding to their charm and character.
