"Les Aventures de Gwendoline" is a collection of works by John Willie (1902-1962), a bondage artist, fetish photographer, cartoonist, and artist born in Singapore, raised in England, and active in the United States.

Willie was a pen name; his real name was John Alexander Scott Coutts.

Bizarre, a bondage magazine with a slogan of "No Nude, No Sex," featuring photographs, illustrations, comics, and stories of beautiful women restrained, was first published in 1946, shortly after the war, and continued to be published irregularly until 1959.

It is rare that he was publishing bondage and fetish themes from this era, and his groundbreaking introduction of various methods, including detailed text, was a major influence on artists of later generations.

This book is a French translation of "The Adventures of Sweet Gwendoline," published in 1974.
