Distilled in Stauning no. 2, the farm distillery. 

Stauning Kaos is a distinctive triple malt whisky that brings together three of the distillery’s signature styles in one bottle: malted rye, malted barley, and peated malted barley. The result is a complex, spicy, and subtly smoky whisky that truly lives up to its name. It takes inspiration from Danish politician Thorvald Stauning, who used the slogan “Stauning or Chaos” during his 1935 election campaign. This unique triple blend may seem unusual – even chaotic – but it works beautifully.

The whisky has a golden amber hue with a soft reddish tint. On the nose, it reveals rich aromas of toasted bread, dark chocolate, vanilla, honey, and gentle smoke. The palate is full-bodied and well-balanced, offering notes of spiced rye bread, caramel, oak, dried fruit, and delicate smoke. The finish is long and warming, with hints of licorice, coffee, and a touch of lingering smoke.

Stauning Whisky was founded in 2005 by nine Danish whisky enthusiasts who shared a single vision: to create world-class whisky with a distinctly Danish identity. Located on the rugged west coast of Jutland, the distillery benefits from the wild Nordic elements – wind, sea, and climate – which provide ideal conditions for maturation, reminiscent of the famed coastal distilleries on the Scottish island of Islay.
