Beautiful specimen of a crinoid from Morocco. Complete with an extendable stand included with the sale. These sea creatures were among the first life forms to inhabit the planet. Found in Northwest Sahara.
Crinoids are a class of echinoderms, the only class within the subphylum Crinozoa. The class includes 648 living species and more than 5,000 fossil species. They are commonly known as sea lilies or feather stars.
Similar to the Ordovician, crinoids had a widespread distribution throughout the entire Paleozoic.
