Description from the seller

Here comes a very special BMW E30 Cabriolet with historic registration (H-plate) and Euro 2!

Blue Mauritius – stunning 1993 BMW E30 318i Cabriolet of the 'Design Edition' (manual transmission)
Sporty and at the same time very economical. Reliable and fully suitable for everyday use.
This is one of the last convertibles in the BMW E30 range (first registered 16 April 1993), which is currently turning into an absolute cult car.

I bought this convertible from a friend two years ago, who had kept it most of the time for eight years in the underground garage of his villa near Saint Tropez. It has a very well-documented history for a car of this model, and in the spring of 2025, after I had everything repaired, it was in condition 2+.
Then I lent it for three months to an Austrian film production, which used it for shooting a new crime series. The lead actress Martina Ebm (known, among other things, from 'Vorstadtweiber', 'SOKO Kitzbühel', 'SOKO Donau/SOKO Wien', 'Tatort', 'Die Toten vom Bodensee', 'Cop Stories', 'Dennstein & Schwarz', 'Bad Fucking', 'Blind ermittelt', 'Die Hebamme', 'Spuren des Bösen', etc.) plays a detective in it, and the convertible offered here is her car. The series, with the production title "Gnadenlos", is expected to be shown around Easter 2026 on ZDF and ORF.

Unfortunately, the vehicle sustained several small scratches during filming, and several covers have gone missing (see photos), but all of them can be repaired or replaced with a reasonable amount of effort, if its future owner so wishes (sic!).
Personally, I would rather leave the car as it is, visually, in its current condition—both to preserve its original state and because of the history it has to tell.

Technically, in any case everything that had to be put right after the filming has been taken care of, and the main inspection (HU) was renewed by TÜV Süd in August 2025 with a follow-up inspection on 09 September 2025, without any defects. The remaining cosmetic signs of wear do not constitute a technical impairment and also pose no risk of corrosion. They can be considered as 'age and mileage appropriate'.

The convertible top was renewed in 2009 and is in practically like-new condition, since the cabriolet has since been driven only about 25,000 km and has always been stored in a garage. The originally fully automatic electric top was converted to manual operation (which for this vehicle type requires only a few steps). The lid of the convertible top housing is however still opened electrically by a switch on the dashboard and is also reliably closed, which makes operation overall somewhat easier compared to a purely manual top.

A very worthwhile investment, as prices for the BMW E30 continue to rise strongly and the
The dark-blue, last 'Design Edition' of the E30 Cabriolet was the most beautiful and, moreover, very rare.

So, in two respects at once—the last Design Edition and a film vehicle—it is a truly very special BMW E30 Cabrio!

TÜV/HU (German 'Pickerl') valid until August 2027. Classic car registration (German H plate).
Can optionally be registered as 'Euro2' as well (the vehicle has the required cold-start regulator for this).

Premium equipment, including leather interior, original sport seats with heating, M-Technik aluminum pedals, Raid leather steering wheel with airbag (a matching original BMW leather steering wheel is available on request), tinted glass, central locking,
4x electric windows, wind deflector, BMW alloy wheels in the classic cross-spoke design (BBS), power steering, etc., and so forth.

The leather upholstery has a light patina appropriate for its age, but it can be refreshed again with little effort.

Completely German history.
After several changes of ownership in its early years, the maintenance intervals became longer as it aged. Overall, this BMW has 10 owner entries, two of which were merely transfers within the family. The vehicle's service history is, despite its eventful history, fully documented.
From summer 2015 to April 2024 the vehicle was stationed there as one of five collector cars owned by my German former owner in the large garage of his villa on the Côte d’Azur and was only driven in nice weather. No snow. No salt.
Overall, very well maintained and, above all, in an unmodified original condition. Also technically in top shape. Sporty and stylish.
TÜV and (HU and AU) valid until August 2027.
The mileage (currently 185,628 km) is verifiably documented. Original service booklet and numerous
Documents available. Also the original vehicle registration document from 1993. The timing belt was first replaced at 54,863 km, then at 96,915 km, and most recently at 169,200 km, i.e., about 16,500 km ago (the recommended interval according to BMW is at every second Inspection II, which corresponds to about 80,000–100,000 km).

This is a private sale, with liability for material defects and defects of title excluded by the seller. Repairs carried out recently may still be covered by the workshop's warranty.

I can also arrange to ship the vehicle within Europe, provided you cover the costs incurred.
The costs incurred for this depend on the destination and may need to be agreed in advance and paid, if applicable.

Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion.
