Description from the seller
Lot contains:
1. Vintage herbarium – 2 volumes – Netherlands, Deventer (1987–1988)
Very well cared for and excellently preserved vintage herbarium, consisting of two large parts, assembled in the Netherlands in the years 1987–1988. The herbarium was assembled by Vincent van Dijk, whose name and handwriting are mentioned on the title pages.
Based on the careful systematic approach, bilingual names (Dutch and Latin), and its didactic setup, it is likely produced within the framework of a training program, possibly by a student at a Dutch university of applied sciences.
The herbariums have been produced with great care and are in magnificent condition. The pressed and dried plants are firmly attached to black cardboard sheets and have been remarkably well preserved.
Each specimen is hand-labeled, using both Dutch and Latin botanical names, often accompanied by the date and place of collection.
Part 1 - 49 plants on page 44
Part 2 - 23 plants on 16 pages
Dimensions (both parts): 30 × 32 cm.
Total: 2
