Prachtige originele Odhner rekenmachine van meer dan 90 jaar oud.    Het merk Odhner komt van de Zweed Willgodt. T. Odhner die in de 19e eeuw de Odhner Arithmometer uitvond.  Hij produceerde onder zijn naam deze mechanische calculators vanuit St. Petersburg in Rusland.   Leuk detail is dat hij in zijn jongere jaren werkte in de fabriek van Ludvig Nobel, de broer van Albert Nobel.    Na de Russische Revolutie in 1917, nadat zijn fabriek in handen kwam van de staat, werd zijn werk voortgezet door zijn nabestaanden vanuit Zweden onder de naam Original Odhner.   

Dit specifieke model 8 kenmerkt zich door onder andere nog de vlinders aan de zijkanten en de dubbele as bij de draaihendel. Deze antieke rekenmachine functioneert nog goed.  Maar is ook decoratief zeer interessant met zijn jaren 30 art-deco uitstraling en nodigt uit tot een gesprek.   Mooi om te zien hoe vroeger berekeningen werden gemaakt.
