PROVENANCE: This lot comes from the private collection of Mr. J. Bahamonde who over a period of 20 years acquired his collection from various prestigious dealers. His degree in archaeology from one of the best British universities and passion for Chinese art is reflected in this large section of Tibetan buddha.
A large lower part of a Tibetan gilt buddha, the flowing robe decorated with incised foliage, accented with jewels (now absent). 7 offering paper scrolls showing script which were found inside and have never been unrolled.
This is a lovely part of a Tibetan buddha, note that is very rare to find such a large size, and with all its original offering scrolls.
Height: 29.5cm.
Width: 20cm
Condition: Good antique condition, age related wear and fissures, the scrolls are original to the piece, and they have never been unrolled.
