Macleod's Isle Of Skye 21 Years Old Wade Porcelain Decanter from 1980s (70cl, 40%)
'The Spirit of the Island' Isle of Skye 21 Year Old blended whisky, containing a high percentage of island malts, housed in a decorative Wade genuine porcelain decanter depicting the mountains of the Isle of Skye.
Distilled & Bottled in Scotland by Ian MacLeod & Co LTD, Edinburgh. One of only 1000 produced.
Ian Macleod & Co was founded in 1933, and was acquired by Peter J Russell thirty years later, running alongside William Maxwell & Co as subsidiaries for many years, producing a range of blends and independent single malt bottlings. This is their flagship Chieftain’s label. Peter J Russell rebranded as Ian Macleod Distillers in 2003, at the same time as achieving their long-held ambition of becoming distillery owners, acquiring Glengoyne, and later, Tamdhu and Rosebank.
Wade Ceramics was founded in 1810 and specialises in porcelain and earthenware, featuring a unique style is well-known and well-loved. Its products include animal figures and industrial ceramics. In the 1950s, the Wade potteries created 'Whimsies', small solid porcelain animal figures first developed by Sir George Wade, which became popular and collectable in Britain and America, following their retail launch in 1954, and were widely available in shops throughout the 1950s, 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s.
