You are bidding on a good italian 4/4 violin, labeled "Pietro Pallotta fece l' anno 1796 n 28 Perugia".
Condition:
Some tears and wears, no cracks.
Description:
Good quality straight high grained spruce was chosen for the top, and the maple of the two pieces back with beautiful narrow grain is strongly flamed. Matched sides and scroll. The purfling is a tasteful work of good craftsmanship. The whole length of the violin is 605 mm and the back 371 mm. The width of the upper bouts: 170 mm; middle bouts: 116 mm; lower bouts: 208 mm. Full size. The violin has new boxwood set up, new bridge and new strings. The sound is very deep, rich, warm and powerful.
