IL piatto presenta il motivo "Amoy", caratterizzato da una scena orientale con edifici e palme. 
Il termine "Flow Blue" si riferisce a una tecnica di decorazione in cui il colore blu, applicato con un trasferimento, si diffonde leggermente durante la cottura, creando un effetto sfumato. 
Questo tipo di porcellana è tipico dell'epoca vittoriana, in particolare del XIX secolo, intorno al 1840-1850. 
La manifattura Davenport era una rinomata azienda inglese specializzata in porcellane, e il modello Amoy è impresso sul retro del piatto insieme al simbolo della manifattura.
