Description from the seller
Head
Year: 2004
Material: bronze with gold patina
Superb monumental sculpture 'Head' by Hervé Di Rosa (born in 1959, France), one of the major artists of the Figuration libre movement.
This impressive piece, in patinated bronze, depicts a stylized head with a primitive and humorous expression, typical of Di Rosa's style.
The face, with exaggerated features and a spiraled gaze, perfectly illustrates his universe blending popular art, comic book culture, and universal imagery.
This bronze fits within the lineage of series of heads created in the early 2000s, including TÊTE (2004) and Tête Haricot, emblematic pieces of Di Rosa's sculptural work that blend humor, folk art, and contemporary spirit.
Mounted on a black metal rod and a circular base, the sculpture presents itself as a bold and balanced decorative piece.
Overall in good condition, with slight natural signs of aging on the patina.
