Op de houder staat: H. Egberts. Bremen en D.R. Patent N° 60693.
In 1891 is een patent afgegeven voor deze houder. 

"Patentschrift - N° 60693 - Heinr. Egberts in Bremen.
Haltevorrichtung für Stöcke, Schirme und dergleichen. 
Patentirt im Deutschen Reiche vom 12 Juni 1891 ab."

Voor deze houder, met aanvulling van een losse lekbak, werd op 20 juni 1893 een patent verkregen in de United States.
