Swiss Gold-Plated Pocket Watch (Chronomètre) – ca. 1930–1950

This is a Swiss pocket watch of the savonnette type (with front cover), bearing the inscription “Chronomètre” on the dial. The term was commonly used during the early–mid 20th century as a stylistic designation rather than an official chronometer certification.
The case is marked “METAL PLAQUE OR LAMINE GARANTI 10 ANS”, indicating that it is made of gold‑plated metal (gold‑filled) with a guaranteed plating duration of 10 years. This type of construction is typical for Swiss watches produced between 1925 and 1950. The watch also bears the mark “TEMERAIRE – GENÈVE”, a known trade name used by smaller Geneva‑based manufacturers. Case number: 27930.

The dial features a champagne‑gold colour with Art Deco styling, a double 12‑hour and 24‑hour scale, and a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock. The blued‑steel hands are original. Some wear is visible on the numerals and surface of the dial, consistent with age. please see the photos.

The movement is  a Swiss hand‑wound calibre typical of the period, likely around 15 jewels.
