This Canonet QL17 G-III is the rare and highly sought-after black edition, privately owned and maintained with meticulous care. It has been stored properly, handled responsibly, and kept in optimal operating condition. The lens is clean, the shutter blades are clear and responsive, shutter times are tested and both the rangefinder patch and bright-line frames are bright and easy to view. The light meter is fully functional, as shown in the photos, and the camera’s light seals have been replaced and tested, ensuring reliable, light-tight performance. The photographs in the listing give an accurate and transparent representation of its condition. Buyers can expect a well-preserved, dependable Canonet in a rare finish.

Description

Offered here is a Canon Canonet QL17 G-III in the rare black finish, one of the most collectible versions of the Canonet line.
It features Canon’s outstanding 40mm f/1.7 lens, a quiet and sharp leaf shutter, and the intuitive Quick-Load system.
This example is in excellent optical, mechanical, and cosmetic condition.
A major advantage is that the light seals have been replaced and tested, and the light meter is working correctly, as demonstrated in the images showing the viewfinder the CHECK indicator.
