A Yue Ware Celadon-Glazed Handled Jar Tang Dynasty (618-907) H8.7 x W10.6 x D9 cm This small jar is potted with a rounded body rising to a short neck, and set with a pair of applied loop handles at the shoulder. It is covered overall in a soft olive-green celadon glaze characteristic of early Yue ware, showing fine craquelure and natural kiln imperfections that attest to its age. The interior is evenly glazed, pooling to a deeper tone at the base, while the unglazed foot reveals the buff-colored body typical of the period. A charming and well-preserved example of Tang dynasty celadon, notable for its compact form and honest kiln-fired surface. Provenance: Acquired from Japan in the 1990s.
