An exceptionally devotional object of refined craftsmanship: a standing Buddha figure, sculpted from clear glass, elevated on a layered lotus-shaped stupa base.
The figure stands in abhaya mudra (protective gesture) and is dressed in a flowing monastic robe with finely worked pleats.
The base is built as a bulging lotus orb — a classical Buddhist symbol of purity and enlightenment — . The connecting ring between figure and base bears Chinese characters (高僧廣…), referring to a revered monk or saint.
The whole rests on a lobed foot in lotus form, also executed in glass.
The stupa is in good used condition with signs of aging. (See photos)
