VEB Plasticart / BT Großräschen metal KLM “Intercontinental” aircraft model with original box (GDR, c. 1970–1980)
Offered for auction is an original metal (die-cast / metal alloy) aircraft model produced by VEB Plasticart Annaberg-Buchholz, GDR (East Germany), BT Großräschen division. This is the classic KLM Royal Dutch Airlines “Intercontinental” jetliner model, reference numbers 271300 / 2703200 / HSL-Nr. 5443010, complete with its original cardboard box.
The model is made from metal, giving it a solid and heavy feel, and retains authentic DDR-era graphics, including wing markings CA–ILS, 62–741, and fuselage registration PH–ILS.
Condition
Good condition for its age.
Some surface wear and small usage marks (visible in photos).
Structure solid, metal free of cracks.
Wings, tail and engines are complete.
Comes with the original VEB Plasticart box showing age-related wear, creases and tears.
Includes the original inner cardboard insert.
Dimensions
Approx. 40 cm in length.
Origin
GDR (East Germany), VEB Plasticart Annaberg-Buchholz.
Estimated production: 1970s–1980s.
Notes
Metal versions of Plasticart aircraft are significantly rarer and more collectible than plastic models.
The KLM livery is also considered a sought-after variant.
