Pair of Art Deco Photo Holders / Bookends with Street Lanterns and Geese - Marble & Bronze-finished Metal - France, ca. 1930

A rare and highly decorative pair of authentic Art Deco bookends, which also serve as stylish photo holders. These pieces are a wonderful example of the "Animalier" and industrial-inspired design trends of the 1920s and 1930s.

Design & Features:
• Base: Each piece is set on a heavy, beautifully veined grey/beige marble base.
• The Lantern: A meticulously detailed street lantern pole in bronze, featuring a copper-toned hood and its original red glass panes.
• The Figures: At the foot of each photo holder sits a pair of charming, stylized geese (or ducks), a classic Art Deco motif.
• Photo Holders: The set includes the original glass panes with elegant beveled/mirrored edges. The frames currently hold vintage portrait postcards, which add to the authentic period feel.

Condition: In good vintage condition. The marble is well-preserved with minor signs of age. The metalwork retains a beautiful aged patina. The glass holders are intact, which is rare for items of this age. See all pictures to make a informed decision, the pictures are part of the description.
