Mark Rothko – Fundació Joan Miró Exhibition Poster (2000-2001)

Description:

Original large-format poster from the 2000-2001 exhibition Mark Rothko held at the Fundació Joan Miró, curated by Rosa Maria Malet and Oliver Wick. The show featured over 80 works (paintings and drawings) spanning from 1935 until shortly before Rothko’s death in 1970, highlighting his journey into abstract expressionism and his evolving use of space and colour.
• Artist: Mark Rothko (1903-1970)
• Exhibition: Mark Rothko, Fundació Joan Miró (25 November 2000 – 28 January 2001)
• Organization / Curators: Fundació Joan Miró & Fondation Beyeler; curators Rosa Maria Malet and Oliver Wick
• Content Context: The poster represents Rothko’s work in his later Abstract Expressionist style, with emphasis on meditative colour fields.
