2015 Baga Friends - Bairrada DOC - 1 Bottle (0.75L)

2015 Baga Friends Tinto 1 x 0.75L 1 Bottle Bairrada Region WINEMAKERS: Baga Friends. AWARDS/RECOMMENDATIONS 18 Points, Vinho Grandes Escolhas WINE VARIETIES: Baga (100%). VINIFICATION Baga Friends is a group of producers whose goal is to educate and showcase the potential of Baga-based wines. The producers who make up the group are: António Rocha (Buçaco Wines), Dirk Niepoort (Niepoort), Filipa Pato (Filipa Pato Wines), François Chasans (Quinta da Vacariça), Luis Pato (Luis Pato Wines), Mário Sérgio Nuno (Quinta das Bágeiras), and Paulo Sousa (Vinhos Sidónio de Sousa). It is a 100% Baga wine, with each producer contributing a significant portion of their own wine in an exclusive production of only 1,000 bottles. TASTING NOTES It's a dry, medium-bodied wine with good freshness and present but very soft tannins. Still very young, it's already quite elegant, with a very persistent finish. A fine example of a Baga red wine. SERVING Ideal to accompany red meat and grilled meat. Store in a place protected from light and without large temperature variations, preferably between 12 and 14ºC. Serve at 16-18ºC. DESCRIPTION A shared sense of admiration and passion for the Baga grape variety and the Bairrada region, as well as concerns about its future, led a group of producers to join forces in 2012 and form "Baga Friends." The group, made up of eight producers—Luís Pato, Filipa Pato, Giz, Quinta das Bágeiras, Quinta da Vacariça, Quinta de Baixo/Niepoort, Sidónio de Sousa, and Vadio—remains united with the purpose of promoting and strengthening the visibility of the Baga grape variety in the national and international markets, and contributing to the prestige of the wines produced in the region. It is a diverse and complementary group, where each producer creates diverse wines, following different winemaking paths, seeking new versions, more classic or modern, while always maintaining a connection with the authenticity of the region, the grape variety, and the expression of its quality and potential. PLEASE NOTE: This is a recurring auction. The seal number(s) you see on the photos might differ from the one(s) on your bottle(s).
