Exceptional French silver Spice stand - Spice container - Paris 1820

Elegant and finely crafted Parisian silver spice holder, made during the Empire–early Restoration period. The piece impresses with its large size (height 19.5 cm, width 18 cm) and substantial gross weight of 424 g, giving it strong visual presence and excellent material value. The stand is fitted with two original cut crystal glass inserts, perfectly preserved, not replacements, with correct period cutting and fit. Both silver structure and glass inserts are in excellent, damage-free condition. All silver components are fully and clearly hallmarked. The fineness is guaranteed by the prestigious Michelangelo head hallmark, used in Paris between 1819 and 1838 for 950/1000 silver, the highest standard of the period. The maker’s mark, “P M” in an upright lozenge, belongs to Pierre-Michel Lemoine, a documented Parisian silversmith whose mark was registered in 1814 and whose activity is associated with high-quality table silver of the Restoration era. His work is characterised by careful hand craftsmanship and consistent marking of all components. A rare opportunity to acquire a large, complete, and fully original French silver table piece, combining age, quality, clear hallmarks, and untouched original crystal.
