New edition, 6 volumes, London, 1785
Complete works but in poor condition, with damaged bindings and scattered stains on some pages.
The books are nonetheless readable.
Jean-Joseph Vadé (1719-1755)
Vadé wrote about twenty plays, including vaudevilles, parades, and comic operas (the Troqueurs, 1753; la Nouvelle Bastienne, 1754; les Troyennes en Champagne, 1755). His comedy Les Racoleurs (1756) is considered a masterpiece of the poissard genre, dedicated to reproducing the language of the fishmongers of the Halle, which Vadé also illustrated in his poem La Pipe cassée (1758). He also used the epistolary genre, portraying common people speaking in dialect.
