Censer - Porcelain - Wanli (1573-1619)
A Chinese blue and white censer in the shape of a foo lion made in Jingdezhen during the Wanli period (1573–1619). The censer is fitted with later 19th century gilt-bronze French mountings to be used as an inkwell. Overall of very high quality.
Condition: very good with minor wear consistent with age, including a few burst glaze bubbles and one of the horns broken off (UV check, see photos). Minor corrosion spots on the metal mountings.
Origin: private Dutch collection.
Dimensions: 10,5 (height) x 11,6 (lenght) x 11,6 (width) cm including stand.
