1978 C.V.N.E. Imperial - Rioja Reserva - 3 Bottles (0.75L)

The C.V.N.E. Imperial Reserva 1978 is a red wine from the Spanish winery Compañía Vinícola del Norte de España (CVNE), located in the renowned Rioja wine region. CVNE's Imperial line is known for its high-quality Reservas and Gran Reservas, which are only produced in outstanding vintages. Grape variety composition: The Imperial Reserva is made mainly from the Tempranillo grape variety, supplemented by smaller portions of Graciano, Mazuelo and Garnacha. The grapes come from vineyards over 40 years old in the municipalities of Villalba, Briones and Torremontalvo in the Rioja Alta. These locations are characterized by calcareous clay soils and a climate with a strong Atlantic influence. Winemaking and maturation: After manual harvesting, the grapes were destemmed and fermented in oak barrels of different sizes. Malolactic fermentation took place in concrete and wooden containers. The wine was then aged in American and French oak barrels, although the exact length of aging can vary depending on the vintage. Tasting notes: Tastings of the 1978 vintage describe the wine as light ruby red with a hint of orange. Intense aromas of smoke, blackberries and spicy roasted strawberries unfold on the nose. On the palate it is light-weight but intensely aromatic, with a moderate to long, spicy and floral finish. The wine was optimally stored in the wine cellar and will be shipped in bottle shipping boxes with PTZ approval DHL and UPS for safe transport. Shipping only to the continental EU and CH. NO shipping to UK / ISL or any other island outside or within the EU.
