Chair - Walnut - Ready Savonarola

Antique Fiorentina Savonarola chair, a scissor/curule chair, is a foldable antique piece with an X-shaped structure made of walnut wood, following traditional craftsmanship for this style.
The design is inspired by Italian Renaissance seats, and the sample shown features finely carved decorative engravings on the backrest, including the Lily of Florence, the symbol of the city of Florence.
The use of 'sedia forbici' dates back to Ancient Rome as a symbol of judicial power (the curule seat), but this Renaissance model is named after the Dominican brother Girolamo Savonarola, who is said to have used it in the 15th century.
