Chirimen crepe silk kimono - without reserve - Japan - Heisei period (1989-present)
A beautiful kimono made of Chirimen fabric with a pattern of lots of flowers and flowing water.
Chirimen is characterized by the fine, irregular, uneven texture called "Shibo" that appears on the surface of the fabric. The Shibo is created by using untwisted warp threads and tightly twisted weft threads. Chirimen has long been used as a high-quality silk fabric, and even today it is widely used as a traditional craft for kimonos and Japanese accessories. The Shibo on the surface of the fabric reflects light from all directions, giving it a unique texture, and when dyed, the color becomes more deep.
Excellent condition, light stains inside.
Length under collar 152cm
Sleeve and Shoulder(center of back to wrist) 66cm
