2000 Bodegas Muga, Prado Enea - Rioja Gran Reserva - 1 Bottle (0.75L)

Bottle in perfect condition, always stored in the best place in my cellar.
A vibrant red color, extraordinarily vivid after its time in barrel and bottle.
Shades of ripe cherry in the bowl of the glass. A radiant wine that reflects light in its purest form. On the nose, we appreciate a diverse yet very balanced array of ripe fruit and compotes, with plums and apples predominating.
After the initial impression, spices emerge, dominated by clove and vanilla. On the palate, we find a balance between power and structure on the one hand, and silkiness and creaminess on the other. In this delicate balance, the acidity, so distinctive of Prado Enea wines, goes completely unnoticed, yet it is there, giving character and a future-proof perspective to the wine.
On the retro-flavour, the spices reappear, gaining freshness and intensity.
This is really wonderful now, offering dark berries, leather, cedar, mahogany and dried fruit. Some figs, too. Full-bodied and very ripe with an intense, powerful palate. Luscious and decadent with so much fruit. A mouthful of aged fruit. Just right now, but will continue to improve. Drink or hold.
