Description from the seller
A fine Qur'anic manuscript on burnished gold paper from a damaged Indian Qur'an dated 1751. It is in very good condition for its age. The manuscript, written in a clear and precise black naskh script, contains scripture from Surah chapter 22, Al-Hajj (The Pilgrimage) v.25-34. The two marginal illuminated juz marks the 25th and 30th verses repectively with the top juz being particularly elaborate reflecting high islamic art. The individual verses are marked out with simple gold aya, while red diacritical markings offer devotees guidance when reading the scripture.
Verses 25-34 of Chapter 22 (Surah Al-Hajj) focus on the sanctity of the Sacred Mosque (Ka'bah), the rituals and purpose of Hajj (pilgrimage) and sacrifice, and the qualities of the humble believers. They define the internal spiritual state of the true believer: humbleness, awe of God, patience in affliction, regular prayer, and charity.
