Description from the seller
This consists of two photos measuring 30x30 cm from my new series Imagine. It is a visual story about an artwork on a beach by the coast, made of round wooden poles. The pole groups are firmly anchored in the sand. Beauty created through order, yet simultaneously a balancing act, on the edge of creation and destruction.
The artwork is part of the dynamic coastal landscape, governed by sea, wind, and tides, where it constantly battles with the elements, temporarily borrowing a piece of the coast, only to ultimately disappear again.
This visual story is about the fishing groups against the backdrop of the ever-present sea. A calm sea, peaceful skies, and wooden poles, waiting for the next confrontation with the elements. Where after high water, around a pole, a beautiful layered pattern remains in the sand or a hole and sometimes a water puddle.
But also about the light shining on the poles and changing with the rising and setting of the sun, the clouds passing by.
This comic is about imagination, seeing the poles during the cycle of seasons, by moonlight, a star-lit sky, part of the infinite universe.
But also about seeing the poles during a storm, with a violently strong sea and clouds hanging menacingly above the beach. Then, the sea and wind torment the anchored poles and put them to the test.
Along the coast, time is a relative concept; here, the sea, sand, and wind relentlessly follow their own timeline. What seems eternal is but a moment here. The artwork remains standing until the sea reclaims the stretch of coast.
Photographs capture what would otherwise remain without memory. A visual story, as tangible proof of existence.
The photos are offered in different formats and editions. The total number of views of the same image will never exceed 30. The photos are printed on Fujifilm Digital Professional DP II Lustre paper with a very fine surface texture, featuring a white border around, making them very suitable and easy to frame.
Both photos are supplied with a certificate of authenticity and a label with the artist's signature on the back of the photo.
The photos are carefully packed in bleached white tissue paper and flatly packed between two layers of cardboard.
