E. Kerry - Black Gnat's Fly Fisherman's Guide & Diary - 1932

A comprehensive catalogue of tackle and flies for fly fishing, including Kerry's own line of "Black Wnat" fly rods. It includes a glossary of fishing terms and several other short, informative texts. The catalogue is written primarily in the first person, and the introductory page, where the author states that he lives on the edge of the Yorkshire Moors and offers his services to novice anglers, is signed "Black Wnat." The company's owner, Ernest Kerry, was born in Germany, Ernst Karl Wilhelm Josef Hubert De Ketschendorf. He moved to England, probably as a child, and changed his name to Ernest Kerry, likely around the time of the First World War, certainly in 1925. (John Austin)
