Talisker Game of Thrones – House Greyjoy, a 700 ml bottle of single malt from the Isle of Skye, Scotland, bottled at 45.8% ABV with original packaging.
Description from the seller
House Greyjoy and Talisker are almost a natural pairing. Talisker is distilled on Skye, the rugged island off Scotland’s northern coast. House Greyjoy rules over the Iron Islands and worships the Drowned God. Select Reserve is a highly characteristic Talisker: dry, smoky and peppery, and bottled at the well-known strength of 45.8%.
Nose:
aromas of smoke, pepper, orchard fruits, dark chocolate, stem ginger and chili pepper.
Palate:
notes of toffee, salted caramel, maritime smoke, pepper, creamy chocolate, dried fruit, brown sugar and ginger.
Finish:
the finish is long and complex with notes of fruitcake, pepper and hints of leather.
Additional info:
Talisker, founded in 1830, is the only distillery located on the Isle of Skye. The distillery lies on the southern shore of the sea inlet Loch Harport, near the village of Carbost and to the north of the steep mountain range known as the Cuillins. The name Talisker comes from a farm called Talisker Farm, situated a little further to the west.
The distillery was established by the brothers Hugh and Kenneth MacAskill. As early as 1848 they leased the distillery to the North of Scotland Bank, marking the beginning of many changes of ownership. Ultimately, after numerous closures due to takeovers and bankruptcies, Talisker merged in 1916 with several other companies into the Distillers Company Limited.
