Warja Honegger-Lavater [illustrator] - Le Petit Chaperon Rouge d'après un conte de Perrault - 1965

Leporello Burgundy cloth boards with green-printed label on the top board; preserved in burgundy cloth slipcase. Rather vague damp-stain to the fore edge of the slipcase and (less so) to the boards. Otherwise very good. Very charming small book. * Warja Honegger-Lavater (1913 - 2007) illustrated a fairy tale by Perrault, using nothing but coloured dots. She was a Swiss artist and illustrator noted primarily for working in the artist's books genre by creating accordion fold books that re-tell classic fairy tales with symbols rather than words (or even picturtes). Studying in Stockholm, Basel and Paris, she opened her own studio for applied design in Zürich in 1937 with Gottfried Honegger, her future husband. It was there that she embarked on her first profession as a designer of symbols, logos and trademarks ** This lot is part of an important collection that will be auctioned in the coming months through the Catawiki Collection Service. If you also need assistance to sell your collection at auction, ask for our terms directly at this seller's account! #bookspartnership
