Description from the seller
Original Yugoslavian theatrical poster for “King Kong Escapes” (1967), the classic Toho kaiju adventure directed by legendary filmmaker Ishirō Honda (known for Godzilla, Mothra, Rodan).
Produced by RKO & Toho, this film features Rhodes Reason, Linda Miller, and the iconic Toho-style King Kong battling Mechani-Kong and wreaking havoc on a collapsing city.
The artwork on this Yugoslav release is unique to the region, created in a bold, illustrated style reminiscent of European comic art from the 1960s.
Among collectors of kaiju, tokusatsu and King Kong memorabilia, Yugoslav posters are increasingly rare and visually striking due to their hand-drawn local artwork.
