Paul Van Hoeydonck is a leading Belgian artist who has played a key role in the European avant-garde since the 1950s. His work spans abstraction, futurism, and humanism, exploring the relationship between humans and technology, between dream and space. He is internationally known as the only artist with a sculpture on the moon — The Fallen Astronaut (1971), placed during the Apollo 15 mission.
In this 1975 silkscreen, Van Hoeydonck shows his characteristic synthesis of poetry and precision: a surrealist composition in which a
An outstretched arm, geometric shapes, and vibrant color accents meet. The lines and dot structure refer to his graphic discipline, while the color planes are remnants of his geometric period.
The work reflects Van Hoeydonck's search for a balance between the organic and the artificial — a theme that permeates his entire body of work. This silkscreen print is not only a representative example of his style from the seventies but also a collectible piece in excellent condition.
