Kilkerran Sherry Cask Matured, an 8-year-old whisky from Campbeltown, Scotland, bottled at 57.4% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
Description from the seller
Glengyle, a distillery in the heart of Cambpeltown, was founded by Springbank in the early 2000s, and began production in 2004. The design of the new distillery is entrusted entirely to the experience of Frank McHardy, historic distillery manager of Springbank, who decides to create an open-space in which all phases of production are also visually close to each other. If the malting, aging and bottling are carried out in the nearby Springbank plants, everything else takes place in the only Glengyle room. The character of marked craftsmanship of the mother distillery pervades every aspect of production: strictly Scottish barley, cultivated mainly on the east coast; light peat, about 15 ppm; rather long fermentation times to imprint particularly fruity aromas already on the must. The production capacity is about 170,000 liters, but the annual production never exceeded 30,000 liters. In 2016, the distillery's first stable bottling was launched, namely the 12 years at 46%, followed by the 16 in 2021. The range is completed with an 8 years at full gradation bottled in different batches and aged from time to time in different barrels, as well as an extraordinary Heavily Peated, peated at 80 ppm, on the market since 2019.
