Vintage: 2017
Number of Bottles: 1
Size: 3.00
Grapes: Corvina e Corvinone 70%, Rondinella 30%

Amarone Classico di Santa Sofia is a powerful yet elegant Venetian red. The nose offers a range of bold and delicate notes, while the palate is dynamic and juicy, supported by a rich tannic texture, where the warmth of the alcohol is tempered by a pleasant freshness. A truly impressive wine, enhanced by its remarkable persistence in the finish. The perfect bottle to uncork during winter dinners.
This Amarone Classico is made from a blend of red grapes native to the Veneto region: Corvina, Corvinone, and Rondinella. These varieties are grown near the hilly terrain around the municipalities of Negrar, Fumane, San Pietro in Cariano, and Mariano, where the subsoil is primarily stony. After harvesting, the grapes are dried for 90 to 120 days in a drying room in Santa Sofia. After vinification, the wine is first aged for 36 months in large Slavonian oak barrels, and then, after bottling, for at least another 12 months directly in bottle.
Amarone Santa Sofia unfolds in the glass with a typical ruby color, very dense and concentrated, practically impenetrable to the eye. The nose is rich and layered, revealing a multifaceted soul, beginning with fruit jam and culminating in spicy notes and balsamic touches. On the palate, it has excellent structure and is muscular, with an austere and substantial palate thanks to the full-bodied tannins; it closes with a finish of excellent persistence. A rounded, rich, and powerful Veneto red that faithfully reflects the extraordinary Valpolicella terroir.
