Shepard Fairey created the work Liberty, Equality, Fraternity to show my support for France after the terrorist attacks of November 13, 2015, which took place just before the Earth Crisis installation at the Eiffel Tower.
This work was very important to the artist as a symbol of unity during a dark and tragic time. Obey was moved to see that the art and message inspired so many people in France and beyond, and it has remained one of my most requested images since its creation.
