Pillbox - .800 silver

Elegant and rare small silver container, modeled with great realism in the shape of a bivalve shell. The exterior features a dense engraved texture that perfectly mimics the natural lines of the shell, while the interior is entirely gold-plated (vermeil), creating a fascinating visual contrast between the satin silver and the warm interior gold.

The piece is equipped with a functional hinge that allows the container to open and close smoothly. Inside, there are stamps that indicate the silvery nature of the artifact.

It is probably a pill holder, a small snuffbox, or a purse container, likely dating from the late 19th to early 20th century.

Good overall condition, with normal signs of age and use. The internal gilding is partially worn in some areas. The hinge is functioning. No breakage.
