Description from the seller
This Dunhill Rollagas lighter is in remarkably high condition for an example dating from the late sixties to the mid-seventies. The gold plating retains a warm, uniform shine, preserving the original guilloché texture with surprisingly fresh definition. The 'engine turned' pattern retains all its depth and detail, with no softened areas, indicating careful use and minimal wear.
The surface shows only the characteristic micro-scratches of normal handling over time, with no dents, dings, or significant loss of finish. The edges remain well-defined, and the lighter's structure retains its complete geometry without distortions, something that is not always preserved in this type of vintage piece.
The lateral roller—the most critical component in the operation of the Rollagas—is in excellent condition, with clear knurling and a firm, precise response to operation. The cover opens and closes smoothly and stably, maintaining the correct spring tension. The interior of the lighter, visible in the images, appears clean, with no excessive combustion residues or signs of corrosion.
The base retains all its engravings perfectly legible: 'Made in Switzerland,' 'Patented,' the directional arrow for flame adjustment, and the Dunhill logo. It also features the punch mark 'ECG / 7' accompanied by a crown, perfectly clear, which adds collector's interest and confirms its authenticity.
The ignition is fully functional, providing a stable flame of good intensity, as shown in the photograph in use. This, combined with its exterior condition, indicates that the internal mechanism is in good operational condition.
In summary, this is a very well-preserved vintage Swiss Rollagas, fully functional and accompanied by its original presentation, qualities that make it a highly attractive piece for collectors and lovers of classic luxury accessories.
It will be sent in a courtesy box for proper preservation.
