Description from the seller

Christofle – Gallia Collection – Silver-plated Wine Bottle Holder
France, mid-20th century

Elegant silver-plated wine cradle from the Gallia Collection by Christofle, France’s most renowned silversmith.
This refined piece is entirely handwoven in twisted silver-plated wire, forming a basket with a gracefully inclined shape designed to keep a bottle of wine slightly tilted — ideal for serving mature Bordeaux or Burgundy wines without disturbing the sediment.

The double braided handle and detailed woven pattern display Christofle’s high craftsmanship and timeless French elegance.
Stamped underneath: “CHRISTOFLE FRANCE – COLL. GALLIA” with the hallmark of the Gallia line.

Dimensions approx.

Height: 16 cm
Length: 25 cm
Width: 10 cm
Weight: 393 g

Condition: good vintage condition, with minimal age-related traces of use. The silver plating is intact and bright.
(Wine bottle not included.)

About Gallia:
The Gallia Collection was launched by Christofle in the early 1900s as a creative line of high-quality silver-plated objects, often with Art Nouveau and later modernist influences. These pieces combine refined design with everyday practicality, making them highly collectible today.
