Elegant rectangular Chinese porcelain box hand-painted in the Famille Rose style, attributed to the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) with dimensions 18 x 9.5 x 7 cm and a weight of 1100 g, in good used condition with minor signs of age.
Description from the seller
Elegant rectangular porcelain box decorated entirely by hand in the Famiglia Rosa / Rose Medallion style, characteristic of Cantonese production from the 19th to early 20th century. The piece features a rich, colorful decorative scheme with relief enamels and gilded details.
The upper part shows two labels or plaques depicting:
Court scenes with aristocratic characters indoors, typical of Cantonese narrative tradition.
Floral and bird motifs (peony flowers, butterflies, and exotic birds), symbols of prosperity and harmony.
The side walls are entirely decorated with floral cartouches framed by green-orange ornamental motifs and touches of gold, surprisingly kept bright.
The inside of the box is divided by an original central separator, a less common feature that makes it particularly interesting as a collectible item.
Materials
Porcelain painted with Famille Rose enamels
Handmade decorations with gold touches
Good overall condition for their age.
No visible structural fracture.
