Description from the seller
Impressionist Still Life
European School, 20th century
Author: Pere Segimon Cisa
Style: Impressionist
Technique: Oil on canvas
Pere Segimon Cisa was a 20th-century Catalan painter, known for his mastery of color and his special sensitivity to still life and the natural world. His work is characterized by loose yet precise brushwork, an interest in natural light, and an intimate approach to everyday objects, achieving compositions of great balance and visual harmony.
This work features a delicate and exuberant floral still life, centered around a ceramic jar filled with flowers in a wide range of colors: roses in pink, cream, and yellow tones, accompanied by blue and mauve flowers that add contrast and depth. The arrangement rests on a green-toned cloth, with its folds rendered through vibrant and fluid brushstrokes, fully aligned with the impressionist style.
On the right side, there is a cup and a small porcelain sugar bowl that balance the composition and add a domestic, serene touch. The softly blurred background emphasizes the prominence of the bouquet and enhances the scene's luminous and textural richness.
The artwork is presented in a classic golden wood frame, with a wide molding and a uniform finish, which adds an elegant and sober touch to the overall presentation without detracting from the painting's prominence.
The frame comes as a gift. It may be damaged during transport even if it is properly packaged.
