Pablo Picasso (1881-1973) - Großer Frauenkopf mit geschmücktem Hut

Picasso Pablo (b. October 25, 1881 in Málaga, Spain - † April 8, 1973 in Mougins, France) “Large female head with decorated hat” Limited edition on laid paper, numbered on verso: 1046/1100 Printing technique: collotype on laid paper Motif format: 60 x 49.4 cm (HxW) Sheet size: 85 x 69.5 cm (HxW) Total edition: 1100 Condition: excellent! has been archived in the plan cabinet since 1991! of the world's last facsimile collotype prints of Pablo Picasso “Large Woman's Head with Decorated Hat” (by the formerly famous Verlag der Kunst Dresden). This collotype was produced in a limited and numbered edition of 1100 copies. The heavy white museum board (handmade paper) measures 85 x 69.5 cm and has a four-sided handmade paper cut. The collotype has a print area of 60 x 49.4 cm. Collotype was a type of lithographic printing that is around 125 years old and has now been discontinued. It was used to achieve an almost photographic reproduction with up to fourteen color printing passes (with special lightfast colors that lasted for decades), which is by far the noblest printing technique and cannot be achieved lightfast even today with the most modern production methods. Due to the time-consuming, manual and therefore cost-intensive work process, the lack of artist or museum commissions and the lack of future prospects for specialized skilled workers, this most faithful of all known printing processes has been considered “extinct” worldwide for two decades and can no longer be produced. This is why these last classic facsimile collotype prints are something special and irretrievable for every lover of historical printing art. The print will be sent securely packaged. It will be sent as a registered and insured parcel.
