AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Beautiful early 20th-century art nouveau wall coat rack in solid oak. The coat rack is richly designed with geometric wooden details, original wrought iron hooks, and beautifully crafted mask heads in copper/brass, characteristic of the period around 1905–1920.

Central is a mirror with two small display windows on each side. In these compartments are original hand-colored Dutch Art Nouveau postcards, one of which is dated 1917. These are included and perfectly match the style of the coat rack.

A special detail is the handwritten poem located behind the mirror. It is a faded but still recognizable romantic text in old Dutch, presumably written around the same period. The lines refer to love, vulnerability, and inner peace. Such hidden texts are rarely preserved intact into the present day.

The piece is in good, used condition with authentic signs of age appropriate for its age. The woodwork is sturdy and original, the glass and mirror are neat with slight signs of use. At the back, some old, inactive woodworm holes are visible, as is common with furniture from this period.

The dimensions are 75 cm wide, 37 cm high, and 13 cm deep. The weight is 4.1 kg.

Will be carefully shipped.
